I came across an important Faery in my last single-card reading. Not to say that some of the Fae are less important than others, but this one has personally impacted me in my life. I have dedicated my life to a spiritual path free of distraction that allows me to better communicate with my surroundings. I also want to discover what’s beyond our physical realm and document it thoroughly, even if there are days where nothing happens.
I wasn’t always this spiritual and curious, however. At least not curious about exploring the depths of the metaphysical. I used to dabble, reading articles online about people who had spiritual or supernatural experiences and mulling over their validity. I would read a novel or watch a movie that had mysticism or folklore interwoven into it and I’d do research on it to see how much was steeped in truth or was just the creator’s imagination. I’d weigh the unexplained against known scientific studies and try to divine a reasonable answer in between the two worlds. I was more of an observer as others were actually pursuing answers.
In my younger years, I knew I believed in meditation and how it benefits in expanding the mind. I wanted to continually progress my meditations and see if I could reach some level that I had never thought existed before. I wanted to discover the higher state of mind that monks and gurus tell us about. Try as I might, though, I couldn’t do it. I looked up methods and did research on everyone’s statements about what it’s like to reach that state. I approached it from every logical angle. I kept my room dark, I removed all literal distractions, I played tonal sounds in the background, I chanted, I did everything that everyone else did when they reached their highest state of being. It only amounted to my frustration.
What does this have to do with my Faery reading today? Something that happened when I was younger couldn’t affect what happened during a current reading, right? It doesn’t, really. It did, however, bring me a sense of peace and awareness. The Faery that I came across is called Nelys the Alchemyst.
